Mentoring

Whether you’re looking to dive into film photography, interested in refining your visual voice, or wanting to uplevel your marketing, I’d love to help you become the best photographer you can be.

Let’s face it, there’s only so far you can go when you’re an autodidact (a.k.a. self-taught), but going into debt to pay tuition for photography school where you’ll learn a ton of stuff you’ll never use, but won’t get lessons on things you might be really passionate about (ahem…film photography…).

With a decade as a film shooter, a dozen years shooting weddings, and almost fifteen since I officially started calling myself “photographer”, I’ve learned a TON of lessons the hard way, and would love to help you navigate this tricky road.

A mentorship with me is deeply curated to your needs and can include anything from…

  • How to shoot with film: whether you’re just starting out or making the transition from digital, there’s A LOT to cover.
  • Controling light: be it off (or on) camera flash, studio strobe, modifiers, how to meter, shooting film with artificial light, or even just the best way to get natural light to work to your advantage.
  • Visual Voice: This one is a doozy, and can be especially hard to nail down by yourself. Together we can dig deep to find the recurring themes and elements that make you the unique artist you are.
  • Marketing: also known as, how to sell your services without feeling like a sleazeball. Psst, it doesn’t have to involve instagram….
  • School Photography: If you’re interested in exploring this world, I’ve gotcha covered.
  • Posing is soooo last season: learn my techniques for directing my clients to bring out their authentic, genuine selves in a way that sets them at ease AND supports your visual voice.

Mentoring starts at $500 for a single session, and goes up from there depending on the number of sessions and length of support.
